Dermal Fillers

FillersDermal Fillers
We use natural fillers such as JuvedermXC® which are made up of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar, closely resembling our body’s own hyaluronic acid. These fillers help restore volume and hydrate the skin.

What can Dermal Fillers do ?

  1. Wrinkle & Skin Depression Filling
Hallmarks of an aging face are wrinkles and loss of  facial volume. Dermal fillers are injected  to plump up the skin from inside out, thus smoothening deep wrinkles and treating laugh lines, hollow cheeks, sunken temples and Marionette lines (frown lines at the mouth corners).
  2. Nose Reshaping
Many consider a higher nose bridge with a sharp and well defined tip to be more attractive. While this is possible with the traditional nose job, currently many patients are turning to nose reshaping with dermal fillers as a quick and safe alternative treatment with minimal recovery time. Dermal fillers can be used to treat: a bump on the nose, building up a flat nose, for nasal shaping and for uneven noses post injury or surgery.
  3. Lip Enhancement
Full, pouty lips may hold the secret to looking younger as aging causes thinning of the lips. So, what if we are not blessed with Angelina’s bee-stung lips? A safe option with minimal recovery time is by  using dermal fillers for lip enhancement. Besides adding volume, dermal fillers can also smooth wrinkles on and adjacent to the lips, such as smoker’s lines (vertical lines surrounding the lip border).
  4. Cheek & Chin Enhancement
There’s a reason great facial bone structure is beloved. High cheek bones are considered attractive and acts as an anchor for the skin, so it wouldn’t droop as much, nor as soon. For those not blessed with natural cheek bones, there are dermal fillers to gently plump up the cheeks. Dermal fillers can also be injected to give the appearance of a more prominent chin in people with a small, short or protracted chin.

How is the procedure like ?

We use hyaluronic acid fillers that are premixed with a local anaesthetic agent to minimize any discomfort. The actual procedure takes about 10 to 30 minutes and results are visible immediately. Recovery time is minimal.

How long does the effects of dermal filler last ?

The results of hyaluronic acid fillers last from 6 to 18 months, depending on the treated areas.

What are the Possible Side Effects from Hyaluronic Acid Fillers?

Most side effects are temporary and reversible. The common side effects are lumpiness, swelling and bruising. In order to minimise the risk of bruising, it is advisable to discontinue the use of Aspirin or certain pain killers such as Ibuprofen and Voltaren for at least a week before the procedure (please discuss this with our doctor if in doubt). If a patient is unhappy with the results, the hyaluronic acid filler can also be dissolved with an injection of Hyalase (an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid).
